Actress and Designer Mandira Bedi Heads to San Jose to Showcase her Saree Collection

On Sat., November 22,  actress, model, anchor and  designer Mandira Bedi will showcase her saree collection in San Jose, Calif., in partnership with event management company Janta Connection.

Bedi, one of Bollywood’s style icons, has previously won two style awards: The MTV Lycra Style Award and the DNA Style Award for the most stylish person on television. She launched her saree collection in October 2013, which was inaugurated by Karan Johar.

Also seen at the launch of her designer sarees were Anil Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Arshad Warsi and Maria Goretti, Sophie Chaudhry, Arbaaz Khan, Mini Mathur among many others. She also debuted her saree collection at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer 2014.

For Mandira Bedi Saree Collection’s show, Janta Connection has partnered with Jabong World. JabongWorld.com is the international arm of Jabong.com, the leading fashion and lifestyle E-Commerce portal in India. Jabong was also one of the sponsors of Lakme Fashion Week in Summer 2014, and now partnered with Janta Connection for this show. Jabong World is a pioneer in Indian Ethnic Fashion Wear across the globe, as it aims to provide it’s international customers easy access to an array of beautiful ethnic wear, including sarees, lehengas, sherwanis, kurtis, shoes, bags and jewelry.

Bedi and Janta Connection’s philanthropic partner for the event is Two Cents of Hope, an organization providing education opportunities to deserving children and youth, who crave to learn, but cannot because of financial constraints.

Janta Connection’s founder, Shereen Chand, has a vision to recreate a fashion event as big as Lakme Fashion Week in the U.S. Since working with top designers from India this year, she is excited to be walking closer to her dreams. The vision is create a platform for designers globally to showcase their collection overseas. It is also creating opportunities for models in the U.S. to get exposure to the global fashion industry. Janta Connection is already planning their fashion shows for 2015, along  with the many other events they have planned for the upcoming year.
